Best of Hollywood Studios

Today we are venturing into another one of Disney’s famous parks…Hollywood Studios! Hollywood Studios opened in May of 1989 and was designed to show guests a look into the glitz and glam of Hollywood life. From rides to immersive dining experiences, Hollywood Studios has a little bit of everything for everyone.

Hollywood Studios sits on over 130 acres and is divided into 7 sections: Hollywood Boulevard, Echo Lake, Mickey Avenue, Pixar Place, Animation Courtyard, and Sunset Boulevard. On today’s post, we wanted to share a little bit of the best of Hollywood Studios- just a simple overview for those looking to go visit the world of glam.

Dining

Hollywood Studios is home to some of the best dining experiences in the parks. From quick eats to sit down dinners, the park has some great options for dining. The 50’s Prime Time Cafe is a classic for alumni Disney goers. Dine on classic comfort food like meat-loaf or fried chicken while you enjoy the nostalgic decor of a mom’s kitchen in the 50’s.

For a buffet-style meal, stop by the Hollywood & Vine for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and character meals. Fill up on pastries, fresh salads, rotisserie meats, and more. The buffet style is perfect for families and groups alike.

If you’re in a rush to head to more rides, grab a quick bite at Catalina Eddie’s. Catalina Eddie’s is a quick service place where you can grab some pizza, salads, and a nice cold drink. There are many more dining options throughout the park some quick and some full dining experiences. We plan to do a whole post on just the dining options in Hollywood Studios.

Rides

Hollywood Studios is definitely not missing any of the thrill and excitement. Hop in line to ride the Tower of Terror if you are a thrill seeker. Once you are buckled into your elevator seat, prepare to be dropped from great heights. And don’t think you can expect the same ride every time- due to varying drops and lifts…no 2 rides will be the same! The thrill won’t stop there! The Rock n Roller Coaster is another Disney famous ride. Sing along to Aerosmith as you race from 0 to 60 in 2.8 seconds. Enjoy 3 inversions as you listen to blasting Aerosmith over 120 speakers on each roller coaster cart.

For those looking for a little less thrill but with the same amount of excitement head on over to the Toy Story Land and hop on the family-friendly coaster- Slinky Dog Dash. One of Andy’s favorite toys- Slinky the dog is featured in this coaster that contains small drops, curves, and little hills. Take your little ones on this ride- the height limit is only 38 inches. You can’t miss a ride on the Star Tours. Join your favorite Star Wars characters as you jump into hyperspace and enjoy a 3D motion simulated flight.

Attractions/Show

Hollywood Studios has some of the best shows on Disney grounds. Take a little break from your exploring and enjoy a classic show. Watch Lumiere, Belle, and Mrs. Potts come to life at the Beauty and the Beast live stage show. This 30-minute attraction is a mini show with top-notch singing and dancing. The story you love most come to the stage! If you enjoy a 3D attraction, then make a spot at the Muppet Vision attraction, One of our favorites, this show is a good time from the moment you hop in line. Laugh with your favorite Muppets from beginning to end in an interactive show that includes some major surprises along the way.

If stunts are your thing, don’t miss the Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular. This attraction is an ever farther glimpse into the movie business, where you can see what it takes to pull off some of the most known stunts in movies. Enjoy this 30-minute look into pure movie magic!
